Ozolkalni is a new rental housing project in Mārupe, being developed by HAGBERG as part of a broader building complex. The development includes 13 timber-frame buildings, comprising 52 modern rental apartments with a total living area of 2,360 m². Designed to suit diverse lifestyles, the apartments are ideal for families, couples, and urban professionals seeking a balance between city convenience and natural surroundings.
This is the first HAGBERG project to feature timber load-bearing structures, enhancing both energy efficiency and architectural sustainability. The buildings are equipped with heat pumps and heat recovery systems, reducing environmental impact and monthly utility costs.
The master plan places strong emphasis on a well-designed, landscaped environment, creating a green and community-oriented residential village. Residents will benefit from extensive green spaces, walking and cycling paths, children’s playgrounds, and thoughtfully designed communal pavilions for co-working, fitness, dining, and relaxation. Infrastructure will include electric vehicle charging stations, bicycle parking, and ample car parking spaces.
The project was designed by the award-winning architecture and design studio Goodpattern, led by architect and founder Guntis Ziņģis. Natural materials and subtle tones have been carefully selected to blend seamlessly with the surrounding landscape, creating a calm, harmonious living environment with minimal visual interference.
Ozolkalni follows in the footsteps of HAGBERG’s successful Dzilnupes housing project, continuing the company’s mission to develop high-quality, sustainable rental housing in the Riga region. It is a forward-thinking, long-term investment in modern residential living — where urban amenities, architectural integrity, and green public space meet.
